RSPEED Track Coaching Session with Eric Sutton

Amazing Coaching!!!

I recently had the pleasure of doing a couple of track days at MSR with Eric Sutton, along with some sim time before going to COTA for the first time.

Eric is amazing! His approach is very thoughtful when it comes to finding your limits as a driver. And I am definitely the limiting factor. As Eric showed me when he drove my car and was lapping 10 seconds faster, probably driving a 5 out of 10 for him.

The difference just between the first and second day was staggering. If you follow his instructions, he quickly becomes more comfortable with pushing your limits. The ceiling is very high for me as a novice, and I almost wanted to cry after I saw what Eric could get out of my car, but it definitely inspired me!

I love that he logs data of each of your sessions as well. Very professional!!! He gave me great insight when we compared some of my hot (luke warm really 😩)laps to his hot laps. Surprise surprise, he was breaking later, on throttle earlier, and racing cleaner lines just about everywhere! Again, more inspiration to get better.

I’m looking forward to continuing my training with Eric into 2025 and closing the gap between my limits and the car’s limits. Eric is definitely the man for the job. And he’s a great dude to spend a day with as well!

Bad Habits Buster

I’ve taken numerous driving schools, and have driven track and or raced for nearly two decades. In the very first sim session with Eric he was able to identify and correct several bad driving habits I’d developed over the years. From there we progressed session by session to improve technique, understand the physics of the car and vastly improve my driving skills. Eric’s style is patient and supportive. There aren’t many opportunities to learn a skill from one of the best in the sport - but driving lessons from Eric is one of those rare occasions. Highly recommend for any level of ability.

Great Instructor

I met Eric when I moved to Houston a few years ago and attended an autocross. His method of instruction and the tips he gave me event to event greatly improved my vision and mental game and ultimately helped me get faster. When he mentioned that he would be coaching a private group at MSR, I jumped at the chance to attend. We started off with a lead/follow session and then one on one instruction. We also got plenty of solo track time as well. He showed us the line, explained his approach and gave feedback to help us improve. In addition to coaching, Eric also posts videos, shares data and is always willing to help.

Gain confidence working with Eric!

Eric has driven with me as my coach in most autocross and track days that I have gone to. I was terrified my first time out on a track and he made it easy and got me past the basics into learning what matters and pointing out what I need to work on. Small Group Track Day

I recently attended a small group track day coached by Eric Sutton, and it was an incredible experience. Eric’s focus on essentials like driving lines, smooth inputs, and vision helped me gain confidence on the track. The training was personalized, with Eric breaking down complex techniques in a way that made sense, and the small group setting allowed for plenty of one-on-one time. I also appreciated the ample solo seat time, which gave me the space to apply what I was learning. Highly recommended for anyone looking to improve their skills in a focused, supportive environment. Amazing Small Group Coaching

I participated in a small group track day with Eric at MSR Houston, I was able to assist in building my training for the day because Eric listened to the things I believed I wanted to work, and after his observations he added to that list. All in all I liked the customization and organic nature of the training as well as having a full day without much time constraints or pressure. I’m looking forward to doing it again and seeing if I made any improvements to my driving.

Excellent Coach

I will set this up with a little background. I have been doing autocross for about a year and a half, and have been to one HPDE weekend before this. My time with Eric was extremely helpful to me as a driver and well worth the price of entry. Just the first session alone I had Improved by 2 seconds over my time I had set at the HPDE, and by the end of the day I managed to shave a whole 9 seconds off my time.

If you are on the fence about whether to choose RSpeed over just an HPDE, I believe I learned more in just that half day session than I did over the full two days of an HPDE.
