Schroth Formula 2x2 Pull-Up Harness

The Schroth Formula 2x2 Pull-Up Harness is purpose-built for formula-style race cars and single-seat vehicles with extremely reclined seating positions. Designed specifically for tight cockpits, this harness offers superior adjustability, lightweight construction, and maximum driver security.

Unlike traditional racing harnesses, the Formula 2x2 places the lap belt adjusters close to the rotary cam lock, allowing for faster and easier tightening — even in confined formula car cockpits.

This harness features FHR-specific 2” shoulder belts optimized for use with head and neck restraint systems such as HANS devices. The 2” pull-up lap belts allow drivers to tighten the harness by pulling upward, which is ideal for low seating positions commonly found in formula cars.

Unique Formula 2x2 Design

What sets the Formula 2x2 apart from other Schroth harnesses is its individual anti-sub straps. Instead of the traditional D-ring configuration used in older formula harnesses, Schroth uses sewn-in webbing loops that connect through the lap belts and latch into the shoulder belts.

This design reduces weight, improves comfort, and simplifies installation.

Because formula cars often mount sub-strap anchors further rearward — sometimes near the lap belt mounting points — proper installation is critical. Always refer to Schroth installation guidelines for correct mounting positions.

⚠️ Important:
This harness is designed specifically for open-wheel formula cars with highly reclined seating positions. It is not recommended for street cars or vehicles with upright seating positions.
